Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Workday AI Solutions Engineer to drive intelligent HR solutions using Workday Extend and AI capabilities. You will partner with HR and IT to turn complex HCM needs into automated workflows, integrations, and AI-enabled experiences.

The role requires strong Workday technical skills, security awareness, and experience delivering scalable, production-ready Workday Extend solutions. Anticipated salary aligns with market ranges for senior roles in IT.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting Workday Extend apps in production.
Strong understanding of the Workday platform, configuration, security, reporting, data sources, and integrations.
Experience with Workday integration technologies (REST, SOAP, Workday Studio, EIBs, Cloud Connect, Orchestrate, event-driven integrations).
Ability to translate HR challenges into practical technical solutions.
Experience evaluating alternatives, communicating feasibility, risks and value.
Proven troubleshooters’ mindset across apps, security, integrations and data.
Experience implementing Workday AI capabilities, Sana for Workday, and agent-management capabilities.
Designing AI-enabled workflows that securely interact with Workday data.
Familiarity with enterprise AI concepts (LLMs, prompts, observability, governance).
Experience connecting Workday with MS 365, ServiceNow, Salesforce, etc.
Developing reusable components and accelerators for Extend, integrations, or AI-enabled solutions.
Knowledge of data privacy and security practices for sensitive data.
Workday certifications in Extend, integrations, platform, security or HCM are preferred.

Responsibilities

Identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities to improve HCM processes via Workday Extend and AI capabilities.
Design, build, test, deploy, and support Workday Extend apps for intuitive employee experiences.
Evaluate Workday AI capabilities and implement based on business value and feasibility.
Develop proofs of concept and iterate with stakeholders toward production-ready solutions.
Ensure Extend/AI solutions align with Workday architecture, security, and data models.
Create integrations across Workday and third-party platforms using REST, SOAP, EIBs, and Orchestrate.
Configure permissions, domain security, and access in collaboration with security and HR teams.
Establish standards and patterns for design, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
Monitor adoption, performance, API usage, and business outcomes to improve value.
Stay current on Workday releases, tools, AI offerings, and marketplace solutions.
