Job summary

COMPA Industries is seeking a Work Control Planner 4 for Los Alamos, NM in a 1-year contract with potential extension. You will develop and review work packages, including time, material, and labor estimates, and craft step-by-step instructions and safety requirements for complex activities at LANL.

This senior role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years related experience, expertise in CMMS, and the ability to navigate regulatory guidance. DOE Q clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 12 years related experience or equivalent; post-graduate coursework may be expected.
• Unique knowledge of and broad experience with complex work control, materials management, and/or mechanical maintenance.
• Extensive knowledge of hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out policies in complex facilities.
• In-depth understanding of interpreting complex mechanical and electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Ability to use a CMMS to manage and track work planning.
• Strong research and problem-solving skills for complex issues.
• Communicate complex planning concepts to diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of lab/government regulatory guidance for work control.
• Ability to work with minimal day-to-day direction.

Responsibilities

• Treat safety and security as a primary responsibility: assure compliance and maintain required safety training, stopping work if unsafe.
• Prepare, review, and issue work packages for unique and complex activities with reg. considerations.
• Analyze time and material requirements and prepare detailed specifications for materials and labor estimates.
• Lead in developing step-by-step work instructions for complex activities.
• Manage and expedite the established priority of work packages.
• Prepare and review isolation, containment, or de-energization instructions per procedures.
• Manage permit development, testing requirements, documentation, records, and training.
• Understand and adhere to Laboratory and regulatory guidance for work control.
• Ensure work control results meet quality specs and requirements.
• Foster a mutually respectful, discrimination-free work environment.
