Job summary

National Grid is seeking a Principal Network Engineer - Wireless to lead the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of enterprise WLAN services across diverse environments. The role includes predictive surveys, RF analysis, BOM creation, and validation using Ekahau and Hamina tools.

You will engage with IT, operations, vendors, and architects to define requirements, produce robust designs, and transition solutions to support. Hybrid work from Brooklyn, NY base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (required).
• 10+ years in enterprise network engineering with wireless LAN design, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Technical authority experience for enterprise wireless services.
• Strong hands-on with Cisco and Aruba WLAN.
• Experience with Ekahau, ClearPass, ISE, and related tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and optimise enterprise wireless LAN across office, operational, and industrial environments.
• Lead network projects, acting as team leader and individual contributor.
• Conduct predictive and onsite wireless surveys, RF analysis, and post-deployment validation.
• Provide technical leadership during major incidents and ensure permanent corrective action.
