Job summary

National Grid is seeking a Principal Network Engineer – Wireless to lead the design, deployment, and support of enterprise WLAN across office, operational, and industrial environments. You will act as the senior technical authority for RF design, site surveys, spectrum analysis, and protocols, focusing on reliability, security, user experience, and operational resilience.

The role involves predictive and onsite wireless surveys, BOM creation, and post-deployment validation using Ekahau/Hamina,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
10+ years of enterprise network engineering with wireless LAN experience.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and optimise enterprise WLAN across office, operational, and industrial environments.
Provide technical leadership during major incidents and maintain design authority for wireless solutions.
Create Bills of Materials and low-level designs for WLAN deployments and NAC integration.
Lead predictive and onsite wireless surveys, RF analysis, and post-deployment validation.
