Job summary
Microchip Technology Inc. in Irvine is seeking a Communications Systems Design Engineer to design and implement physical layer algorithms for low-power Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and Sub‑GHz wireless products.
You will work with RF/Analog, Digital, and Validation teams to bring up test chips and SOCs, simulate systems, and optimize performance. The ideal candidate has an advanced degree in EE with 8+ years in wireless PHY, strong signal processing skills, and experience in MATLAB and C/C++.
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of wireless PHY experience.
- Experience with MATLAB, C/C++, and fixed-point programming for signaling and simulations.
- Familiarity with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth PHY layer standards is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement physical layer algorithms for Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth and Sub‑GHz wireless products.
- Simulate communication systems and develop digital blocks.
- Collaborate with RF/Analog, Digital, Validation and Software teams for bring-up and testing.
- Produce design/test plans and documentation.
