Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company is seeking an experienced System Administrator to manage on-prem Windows Server environments and support security posture for DOE. Responsibilities include patching, backup monitoring, incident response, and collaboration with EITS on vulnerability remediation.

The role requires 7–10 years in IT, a degree in IT/CS, and US citizenship with the ability to pass a federal background check.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT/CS or equivalent experience; Master’s preferred.
• CompTIA A+ or ITIL certification preferred.
• 7–10 years of experience in information technology, systems administration or related field.
• US citizenship with ability to pass a federal background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows Server 2019/2022 environments, including installation, configuration, upgrades, security patches, and scheduled maintenance.
• Monitor backups and storage, troubleshoot alerts, and ensure recovery readiness.
• Perform vulnerability scanning and remediation using Tenable/Nessus; collaborate with EITS on scan outcomes.
• Support high level incident response, triage technical issues, and document remediation actions.
• Participate in infrastructure initiatives (e.g., Windows 2016 retirement, IIS/logging enhancements) and security authorization evidence preparation.
• Support operational security hygiene through service account review and password rotation coordination.
• Contribute to documentation and Records Management collaboration across CMEI program offices.
