Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company, is seeking a Senior Windows Platform & Automation Engineer for a hybrid role in Holyoke, MA. You will own the Windows Server lifecycle, drive automation with PowerShell and Ansible, and collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to strengthen platform reliability and security.

The candidate will implement standards, runbooks, and ongoing improvements while mentoring peers and advancing operational excellence within enterprise Windows environments.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years in enterprise Windows Server engineering and production support.
• Experience with Windows Server, AD, GP, and PowerShell; patch management and remediation.

Responsibilities

• Own the Windows Server platform lifecycle, including patching, OS upgrades, server builds, retirements, and remediation.
• Define, maintain, and improve processes, standards, documentation, and runbooks.
• Partner with system administrators to execute platform activities while maintaining governance.
• Drive automation and standardization through PowerShell, Ansible, and other tooling.
• Maintain Windows security baselines and Group Policy standards.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure and Security teams to improve reliability, security, and supportability.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to modernize Windows platform and reduce debt.
• Provide technical leadership and promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of seven years of hands-on experience in engineering, securing, and supporting enterprise Windows Server environments, including business-critical production systems.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell, as well as patch management and vulnerability remediation.
• Demonstrated experience supporting Windows Server across physical infrastructure, VMware and Nutanix virtual environments, and AWS- and Azure-hosted environments.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain, and continuously improve operational processes, technical standards, security baselines, documentation, and runbooks.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex Windows infrastructure and production issues and to communicate and collaborate effectively with infrastructure, security, and other cross-functional teams.

Primary Responsibilities

• Own the Windows Server platform lifecycle, including patching, OS upgrades, server builds, retirements, and vulnerability remediation.
• Define, maintain, and continuously improve processes, standards, documentation, and operational runbooks.
• Partner with system administrators to execute platform activities while maintaining overall process ownership and governance.
• Drive automation, standardization, and operational efficiencies through PowerShell, Ansible, and other tooling.
• Maintain Windows security baselines, Group Policy standards, and platform hardening practices.
• Partner with Infrastructure and Security teams to improve platform reliability, security, compliance, and supportability.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that modernize the Windows platform and reduce technical debt.
• Provide technical leadership and promote knowledge sharing, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements | Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, VMware, and Nutanix environments.
• Experience with infrastructure automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, and configuration management tools.
• Familiarity with CIS benchmarks, Microsoft security baselines, and compliance-driven environments.
• Relevant Microsoft, cloud, automation, or security certifications preferred.

Estimated Min Rate: $52.50

Estimated Max Rate: $75.00
