Job summary

Malwarebytes is seeking a Windows Platform Architect to shape the core of our Windows product. This hands-on senior technical role leads design from kernel drivers to user-mode services, ensuring safety, stability, speed, and lightness across millions of PCs.

You will collaborate across US and Europe teams, and drive low-level improvements. Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of software development with Windows internals, kernel driver experience, and strong C/C++ skills.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building software with deep focus on Windows internals.
• Hands-on kernel driver work: minifilters, kernel callbacks, Windows driver model.
• Strong C and C++ skills; experience with C# and .NET performance.

Responsibilities

• Own the design of core Windows components, from kernel drivers to user-mode services.
• Make the product fast and light: reduce CPU, memory, and startup time.
• Find and fix hard system issues using crash dumps, traces, and kernel debugging.
• Lead driver signing and certification work with Microsoft.
• Help resolve urgent issues during US hours (certificate, signing, or false positives).
• Review new Windows features and APIs and decide usage approach.
• Collaborate with Research to apply protections at OS level.
• Mentor engineers on Windows internals and design best practices.
• Deliver clear memory/CPU gains across the Windows product.
• Lead design of at least one major driver or core component change.
