What You’ll Do
The Platform Engineer will manage Windows-based environments and provide application support to ensure performance, security, and reliability in a mixed IT environment. This role involves technical leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration with internal teams and external clients.
Responsibilities
- System Administration: Manage and maintain Windows server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy. Ensure systems are patched, up-to-date, and secure.
- Application Support: Provide technical support for Windows-based applications, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring applications are optimized for performance and availability.
- Performance Monitoring: Implement and maintain monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring high availability and performance of Windows platforms and applications.
- Security Management: Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to protect organizational data and IT resources. Respond to and mitigate security incidents.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system architectures, configurations, processes, and service records.
- Consulting and Collaboration: Provide expert advice and support to internal teams and external clients, collaborating on IT solutions that align with business objectives.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of new technologies and industry best practices, recommending improvements to systems and processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in Windows administration, including managing Windows Server environments and supporting Windows-based applications.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, infrastructure services, and security principles.
- Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex technical issues.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
