Job Description Summary

GE’s Vernova’s Onshore Wind Services team is growing rapidly. Position Overview

The Senior Wind Hub Technician requires local travel within the hub and plays a vital role in maintaining optimal turbine operations, safety, quality control, and warranty repairs. The technician collaborates with Site Lead and Manager to meet contract requirements and ensure GE standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with site leadership to fulfill contractual obligations and daily activities involving electrical and mechanical equipment of GE wind turbines.
• Utilize extensive knowledge of variable pitch & speed turbines and converter components.
• Read and interpret schematics, manuals, procedures, and regulations.
• Follow all environmental, health, safety, and compliance protocols.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on turbines.
• Assist in all site operations as directed, adhering to safety standards.
• Perform diagnostics and develop plans for resolution.
• Document all work using computer-based reporting systems.
• Coordinate with GE’s remote operations center as needed.
• Mentor peers and support site operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 4+ years of wind troubleshooting experience or 5+ years of wind troubleshooting experience.

Eligibility

• Ability to pass technical assessments.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 100%.
• Ability to handle 50 lbs. weight, climb towers up to 300 feet.
• Work in diverse environments including industrial and power facilities.
• Work independently, prioritize tasks, and work flexible shifts including on-call and overnight stays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• Technical certification in wind energy or electrical/electronics.
• Experience with wind turbines, hydraulic tools, and heavy equipment.
