Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Senior Wi‑Fi Software Engineer (Starlink) to own the Wi‑Fi software roadmap and optimize kernel‑level performance for a scalable satellite internet system. You will collaborate with RF/EE teams, mentor engineers, and drive CI/CD tooling to enable frequent deployments and robust testing.

The role requires 5+ years in software development (or 7+ years without degree), strong C/C++, embedded networking experience, and familiarity with 802.11.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or STEM and 5+ years of professional software development; or 7+ years without degree.
• 3+ years development experience in C or C++.
• Experience with IEEE 802.11 and networking protocols (UDP, TCP/IP).
• Experience with embedded software for networking equipment.

Responsibilities

• Drive the Wi‑Fi software and product roadmap.
• Debug and optimize kernel-level system performance.
• Collaborate with RF and EE engineers to improve testing for software and hardware.
• Mentor software engineers and build a great work culture.
• Improve Wi‑Fi mesh performance.
• Invent tools for frequent deployment, testing, and data analysis in CI/CD.
