Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC seeks a Senior Manager of WHS Design, Construction and Startup to lead safety design and launch efforts for new facilities. You will manage start-up plans, coordinate with engineering, procurement and operations, and drive risk-based design improvements across sites.

You will mentor safety professionals, oversee risk assessments, and ensure compliance with local, regional and federal safety standards while influencing senior leadership on safety strategy and execution.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of program or project management experience.
• 10+ years of cross functional project delivery experience.
• 10+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the WHS start-up plan for all new facilities.
• Deep Dive trends and design improvements to develop proposed action plans to Sr. Leadership.
• Advise senior leaders on emerging trends and potential impact on roadmaps and strategy.
• Maintain organizational safety engineering risk assessment methodology including risk tolerances.
• Support new launches by performing suitable risk assessments when appropriate.
• Identify gaps/opportunities in regions, processes, and organizations to enable high standards and consistency.
• Support the development of solutions that meet Amazon high standards for safety, risk reduction, and operational excellence.
• Possess technical knowledge and engage with cross functional teams to create compliant processes.
• Validate vendor proposed safety solutions with internal teams for right first time safety standards.
