Job summary

Stantec is seeking an environmental professional to join our ecology and wetlands team. You will perform wetland delineations, ecological assessments, and regulatory compliance work on diverse projects across the Midwest, including renewable energy, transportation, and private development.

Ideal candidates have a BS degree with several years of wetland experience, a track record leading delineations under USACE guidelines, and a willingness to travel regionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree with 3–5 years of relevant wetland experience.
• Experience identifying and characterizing plants, soils, and wetlands in the region.
• Experience leading wetland delineations according to USACE Manual and Regional Supplements.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% and work long hours in adverse weather.
• Familiarity with Field Maps and Survey123.

Responsibilities

• Delineate wetlands and water resources and characterize sites.
• Conduct botanical surveys, habitat mapping, and endangered species assessments.
• Prepare delineation reports for clients and regulators.
• Support environmental permitting and compliance with federal/state rules.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary environmental assessments.
• Manage data and perform analyses.
• Attend client and regulatory meetings and provide input.
• Possible wildlife surveys and ecological restoration tasks.
