Who are we looking for?

Our Northeast Environment business is seeking a senior-level Wetland Scientist / Ecologist / Biologist to join the Natural Resources team. You will oversee and conduct wetland and watercourse assessments, protected species surveys, environmental reviews, and permit applications. Designing ecological sampling and monitoring plans, analyzing data, and leading technical report preparation are key responsibilities. Client communication and business development skills are essential.

Responsibilities include:
  • Conducting field assessments such as wetland delineations, stream surveys, and protected species habitat assessments.
  • Preparing work plans for collecting chemical and biological data and reviewing analytical results for site assessments and risk evaluations.
  • Preparing technical reports and permit applications complying with federal and state regulations.
  • Supporting clients with innovative solutions for project needs.
  • Managing technical projects, ensuring client satisfaction, safety, and adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Developing strategic relationships with clients and partners.
  • Supervising field staff, subcontractors, and junior staff.
  • Tracking and delivering projects effectively.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Natural Resources, Water Resources, Biology, Ecology, or related field, or bachelor's degree with relevant experience.
  • Certification as a Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) or pursuing PWS certification.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the private sector as a consultant or environmental manager.
  • Technical expertise in wetland vegetation, soils, and hydrology in specified regions.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and permit requirements.
  • Project management experience, including developing work plans, budgets, and scopes.
  • Experience with GPS, data loggers, and survey devices.
  • Willingness to travel and work in challenging field conditions.
  • Ability to work remotely and collaborate electronically.
