Job summary

University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking an Associate Director for Wellness in Student Affairs to oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive student health and wellbeing programs. This role leads the peer health education program, supervises staff, and drives outreach, budgeting, and cross‑department collaboration to advance campus wellness.

With a focus on prevention and education, the position supports strategic planning and evaluation while reporting to the department

Qualifications

Master's degree in Public Health, Health Education, Psychology or a related field; three (3) years of related experience is required.
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Responsibilities

Oversees development and implementation of programs promoting student health and wellbeing.
Leads and supports the peer health education program and staff development.
Directs staff hiring, training, and professional development within the department.
Oversees outreach, social media, and marketing for programs and services.
Manages department budget and resource allocation.
Collaborates with university and community partners to advance comprehensive wellness initiatives.
Assists the Director with operations, planning, policy development, and evaluation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
