Job summary

Skaalen Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Inc. is seeking a motivated Wellness Coordinator to provide fitness, exercise, and wellness programming for residents and community members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in exercise science, wellness, health, or related field preferred.
• Certification as a personal trainer, exercise specialist, fitness instructor, health/fitness specialist, COTA, PTA, or related field preferred.
• Current lifeguard certification or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience working with or providing fitness/activity programs for older adults preferred.
• Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
• Reliable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver safe, engaging wellness, fitness, and exercise programs.
• Support residents and participants in achieving individual wellness goals.
• Monitor participation and progress and maintain documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing programs and develop new services.
• Promote wellness programs and encourage participation and enrollment.
• Monitor fitness equipment and supplies and recommend improvements.
• Participate in community presentations and activities promoting Skaalen’s wellness services.
• Follow procedures and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Collaborate positively with coworkers and care-team members.
