Job summary
Homestead Healthcare in Farmington Hills, MI seeks a passionate Fitness & Restorative Wellness Trainer to design and lead a comprehensive wellness program for residents. This role aims to improve strength, balance, mobility, and quality of life through engaging movement experiences in a rehabilitation-minded framework.
The ideal candidate brings a background in personal training or restorative care and can collaborate with nursing, therapy, and restorative staff to create cohesive wellness plans
Qualifications
- We encourage applicants from a variety of backgrounds, including careers in senior care and therapy.
- Additional qualifications include a senior fitness specialty certification and CPR/AED certification.
- Familiarity with age-related conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, Parkinson's, balance disorders, and dementia.
Responsibilities
- Assess residents' baseline strength, balance, flexibility, and daily living skills.
- Design and deliver restorative programming including strength, balance, chair yoga, and cognitive-motor activities.
- Lead both one-on-one sessions and group classes to motivate residents.
- Collaborate with nursing, PT/OT staff to align wellness plans.
- Educate residents, families, and staff on the value of regular movement.
