Job summary

Paramount Convalescent in Paramount, CA is seeking an Activities Assistant to support wellness and recreation programs for residents. You will participate in planning, lead hands-on activities, and help coordinate volunteers under the supervision of the Resident Programs Director.

A caring approach to seniors and the ability to work with diverse teams are essential. Candidates with at least 1 year of direct activities programming in a skilled nursing setting are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of direct activities programming experience in a skilled nursing setting.
• Basic typing and computer skills are essential, preferably in a Microsoft Windows environment.
• Flexibility with schedule.
• Works well with others.
• Must enjoy working with the senior population.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the coordination, direction and delivery of wellness and recreation programs to meet residents' needs.
• Provide hands-on involvement in programs during residents' scheduled times.
• Assist in planning, orientation and supervision of volunteers.
• Support the Resident Programs Director in engaging residents emotionally, physically, spiritually, socially and intellectually.
• Assist with marketing and promotional materials, helping to ensure professional quality.
