Job summary

You will work from drawings and welding prints, prepare welds, and assist fitters to position components for hull and superstructure assembly. Training is provided to advance through Skill Levels 1–3.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret weld prints, drawings and welding symbols.
• Perform basic setup and weld preparation.
• Maintain welding equipment and shop tools.
• Follow safety protocols and WPS.
• Commit to learning and advancing weld levels.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret simple blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
• Perform basic setup and weld preparation.
• Certified for basic fillet welds-bare/primer.
• Learn and follow safety protocols, PPE use, and shop practices.
• Assist senior welders with equipment setup and material positioning.
• Any other task as Supervisor sees fit.
