Job summary

Leonardo DRS in Bridgeton, MO is seeking a full-time Senior Welder to fabricate and manufacture production parts according to sketches and blueprints, interfacing with Engineering as needed. You will weld with MIG, TIG, and other processes across carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, read blueprints and weld symbols, and ensure compliance with AWS and ASME codes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years welding experience.
• Proficiency with MIG and TIG welding.
• Experience interpreting sketches, blueprints and weld symbols.
• Experience cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces.
• Understanding of metallurgy, metal tolerances and types of metal.
• Ability to resolve issues with equipment or materials.
• OSHA safety compliance and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Weld with high proficiency and accuracy across applicable metals.
• Weld to code specs including AWS and ASME.
• Read blueprints, weld symbols, and NDE symbols; interpret acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing and Quality to support production.
• Perform daily/weekly maintenance on welding equipment.
• Maintain safe work environment and adhere to WHMIS procedures.
• Inspect weldments visually to ensure compliance.
