Job summary

PING, Inc. seeks a Senior Welder in the Phoenix metro area to perform welding, brazing, and cutting using gas and electric welding equipment in support of Manufacturing Engineering Equipment and Facilities Metal Structures.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED with 6+ years welding experience, welding certificates, and a valid Arizona driver’s license. You will work with the sheet metal fabrication team to optimize bending and welding and maintain project trackers.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or completion of formal apprenticeship program, plus a minimum 6 years’ welding experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current Arizona Driver's License.
  • Welding Certificate.
  • Forklift Operations Certificate.
  • Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW).
  • Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW).
  • Proficiency in surface preparation, set up, and sequence of welding components for proper alignment.
  • Demonstrated experience in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW).
  • Proficiency in quality of work.
  • Ability to complete work in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Receive instructions, prints, and work orders for the job. Plans details of working procedure and tools and material requirements.
  • Work with the Sheet Metal fabrication team to determine best path to fabricate sheet metal components and assemblies. Optimizes fabrication for sheet metal bends and welding.
  • Maintain Fabrication Project Tracker.
  • Fabricate equipment by cutting, burning, and welding various metals.
  • Maintain engineering tolerances to ensure wear and tear performance on equipment to be welded.
  • Repair equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
  • Use burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
  • Be assigned to dismantle or cut up obsolete machinery, setting aside parts for scrap dealer.

You Have

  • Proficiency in quality of work.
  • Ability to complete work in a timely manner.
  • Ability to maintain minimal response time to Hot Line requests.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Good working relationship with co-workers.
  • Basic level of computer literacy, including MS Office: Outlook, TEAMS, Word and Excel, Internet browsers, electronic work order system.
  • Ability to comply with company policies.
  • Ability to adhere to company security regulations and protection of company property.
