Job summary

Fisher Dynamics is actively seeking an experienced Weld Engineer for our Harper Woods, MI location. The role leads welding development, resolves welding issues with internal teams and suppliers, and creates processes for quotations and efficient weld cell designs.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Weld Engineering Technology with five or more years of welding experience, preferably in automotive seating or mechanisms, and strong GD&T, AutoCAD, and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Weld Engineering Technology.
• Five+ years welding experience.
• Experience in automotive seating and/or mechanism environment.
• Strong GD&T knowledge.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead new welding development research.
• Troubleshoot welding issues both internally and with suppliers.
• Develop processes for quotations.
• Develop weld cell designs for efficient manufacturing.
• Develop and specify welding standards and best practices.
• Develop and specify welding equipment and components.
• Improve welding equipment OEE.
• Reduce welding scrap.
• Program management.
• Promote sound welding principles throughout the organization.
