Job summary

Iris Software Inc. in Austin seeks a Blockchain/Web3 Engineer with 5+ years in distributed systems to build backend services for blockchain apps. You will work with Ethereum/EVM, Solidity, and tools like JSON-RPC and WebSockets to connect nodes, wallets, and custody platforms.

Ideal candidates have experience with tokenization, event-driven architectures, and microservices in cloud-native environments, plus familiarity with Besu or enterprise blockchain platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building distributed systems, backend platforms, financial systems, or blockchain/Web3 applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with Ethereum/EVM, smart contracts, Solidity, and blockchain transaction lifecycle (gas, nonce, confirmations, logs, finality).
• Backend services that integrate with blockchain nodes, wallets, custody platforms, signing systems, and smart contracts via JSON-RPC and WebSockets.
• Design scalable services for tokenization, transaction orchestration, blockchain connectivity, event ingestion, indexing, and token lifecycle management.
• Experience with microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, messaging systems, and cloud-native development using Java, Go, TypeScript, Python, Rust or similar.
• Preferred experience with Hyperledger Besu, permissioned EVM networks, Canton/Daml, or enterprise blockchain platforms.
• Experience with wallet infrastructure, transaction signing, custody, key-management patterns, smart-contract security, and production deployment in regulated environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement distributed backend services to support blockchain and Web3 apps.
• Integrate with blockchain nodes, wallets, and custody platforms using resilient APIs (JSON-RPC, WebSockets).
• Develop scalable tokenization, transaction orchestration, and event ingestion pipelines.
• Deploy and monitor microservices in cloud-native environments with secure practices.
