Senior Web Performance Engineer (Remote - Observability | $150K-$250K)

Location: Remote (USA-based only)

Compensation: $150,000-$250,000 base (DOE)

We're working with a fast-growing, venture-backed SaaS company that specializes in monitoring and optimizing frontend and mobile performance. Their platform provides real-time visibility into user sessions, performance bottlenecks, and application health, utilizing modern open standards.

The company has a seasoned leadership team, backing from top-tier investors, and is gaining traction across industries like retail, travel, and digital media. They help teams identify issues that traditional observability platforms might miss, enabling faster development and confident shipping.

We are seeking a Senior Web Performance Engineer to expand their open-source projects, develop high-performance SDKs, and address complex data and monitoring challenges at scale.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain robust, production-ready open-source SDKs
• Debug real-user sessions using traces, logs, and web vitals
• Collaborate with product and customer teams to improve performance tooling
• Contribute to the OpenTelemetry ecosystem
• Design and optimize systems to handle millions of sessions per day

Qualifications

• Strong experience with JavaScript and modern frontend performance techniques
• Deep understanding of web vitals, tracing, and browser debugging tools
• Experience building or maintaining SDKs/libraries used by developers
• Open-source contributions or community engagement is a plus
• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experience
