Job summary

Vanguard seeks Wealth Advisors to serve high-net-worth clients with complex portfolios in a remote Houston-area role. You will manage portfolios from $5–$15M, delivering tailored financial guidance, investment strategies, and estate planning within Vanguard's Personal Wealth division.

Candidates should hold a CFP designation and have 7+ years of advisory experience, plus licenses such as Series 7/63/66 and SIE. Strong communication and collaboration are essential to success.

Qualifications

  • CFP® designation required.
  • Series 7, 63 or 66 regulatory license and/or registration (SIE) required or ability to acquire.
  • 7+ years of financial advice and relationship management.
  • Experience applying trust and estate planning knowledge to preserve wealth.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial planning, investment strategies, and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with executive presence.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard clients and manage a book of business including high-profile individuals and families.
  • Advise using Vanguard's investment philosophy and client-specific suitability and risk considerations.
  • Provide financial planning solutions including tax strategies, estate planning, and trusts in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Promote professional development and coach peers within a collaborative team environment.
  • Travel to client meetings or conferences as needed.

As a Wealth Advisor within Vanguard's Personal Wealth division, you will develop tailored strategies that will help our ultra-high net Worth clients achieve their unique financial goals. You will provide advice using ongoing portfolio management solutions targeting clients and prospects with portfolios of $5 to 15M in investable assets using Vanguard products and the fullest expression of our wealth management offer.

Responsibilities

Wealth Advisors onboard clients and manage a book of business that can include high-profile, and influential individuals and families. By communicating Vanguard’s investment philosophy and making recommendations that consider client suitability, risk tolerance, appropriate saving and spending strategies, Wealth Advisors give our clients the best chance for investment success by providing financial planning solutions using our time-tested research and investment methodology.

Wealth Advisors work in a collaborative team environment, partnering with internal resources to serve client needs and goals related to investment advice, tax strategies, legacy and estate planning, philanthropic giving, and corporate trust services. They also manage trusts, both as an investment manager and when Vanguard serves as corporate trustee, in partnership with internal Trust Administrators.

Qualifications
  • CFP® designation required. Additional certifications such as the CFA, CTFA or CPA preferred.
  • This job requires a Series 7, 63 or 66 regulatory license and/or registration (e.g. FINRA, state, SFC) as well as the SIE or ability to acquire once in the role. These will be determined by Compliance based on role‑specific duties.
  • 7+ years of financial advice, financial planning, book of business management and relationship management.
  • Experience applying trust and estate planning knowledge to help preserve clients' wealth.
  • In‑depth knowledge of financial planning, investment strategies, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong executive presence when interacting with clients and representing Vanguard at conferences and/or client visits.
Considerations
  • This role is designated as remote and must be performed within Texas. Employees are expected to maintain their primary work location within the Houston,metropolitan area, with a preference for residing within a 50-mile radius of Houston, unless otherwise approved by Vanguard. Attendance at periodic in‑person meetings, team events, training sessions, or other business‑related travel may be required.
  • Occasional travel may be required to Vanguard sites for client meetings, or local and national professional conferences.
