Job Opportunity: Senior Designer - Water Business Group

HDR is seeking a Senior Designer to join our Water Business Group in Charlotte, Raleigh, or Winston-Salem, NC. The ideal candidate will have a technical interest in water and wastewater treatment, pump stations, pipelines, water resources, or stormwater.

The Senior Designer will assist with projects through planning, design, and construction phases, including water and wastewater treatment facilities, gravity sanitary sewers, force mains, water distribution and transmission pipelines, pump stations, and related infrastructure. They will support professional engineers and technical staff and may have periodic client contact and occasional field visits for construction observation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field
  • At least 20 years of experience in water/wastewater/water resources projects, focusing on treatment, pump stations, pipelines, or stormwater
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, and ESRI ArcGIS
  • Team-oriented attitude
  • Local candidates preferred
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience in relevant discipline
  • Hands-on experience with discipline-specific computer applications
  • Extensive knowledge of industry standards
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills
