Job summary

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects in Kansas City is seeking a registered civil or environmental engineer with 12+ years of municipal water and wastewater project experience to serve as Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager.

You will lead technical delivery, client management, and personnel for the water/wastewater team, collaborating with other offices to advance sustainable design of treatment facilities and distribution systems in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant municipal water infrastructure design experience.
• Active professional licensure in Kansas or Missouri.
• Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D for design plan production.
• Knowledge of modeling software such as WaterCAD or SewerCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and supervision to licensed and non-licensed engineers and production staff.
• Oversee design of water systems including storage tanks, pump stations, transmission lines, wells, and treatment facilities.
• Oversee design of wastewater systems including collection systems, lift stations, and treatment processes.
• Lead marketing and business development efforts for the water/wastewater team.
• Collaborate with other water/wastewater teams across the firm to deliver projects.

Job description

Wilson & Company is seeking a registered civil engineer or environmental engineer with a minimum of 12 years of experience in the engineering consulting industry to serve as a Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager for sustainable design of municipal infrastructure projects involving the treatment and supply of potable water, as well as the treatment and disposal of wastewater and sewage. The Senior Project Manager will lead the technical delivery, client management/business development, and personnel elements of the water/wastewater team in Kansas City while developing strong working relationships with other water/wastewater teams in the firm. Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide technical direction and supervision to licensed and non-licensed engineers, designers, and other production personnel who collectively range widely in experience.
• Be familiar with engineering studies, reports, and design requirements needed to complete projects throughout Kansas and Missouri.
• Design of water systems such as storage tanks, booster pump station, transmission and distribution lines, groundwater wells, and water treatment facilities.
• Design of wastewater systems including collection systems, lift stations, force mains, and wastewater treatment processes.
• Design of effluent reuse systems such as tertiary filtration, storage, disinfection, pumping, and distribution.
• Familiarity and/or experience with federal and state funding programs for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Lead the marketing and business development efforts for the water/wastewater team.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering in an ABET-accredited college or university.
• Master’s degree in a field directly relevant to water and wastewater treatment is considered a plus.
• A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in municipal water infrastructure design.
• Active licensure in the State of Kansas or Missouri.
• Active licensure in other Midwest states a plus.
• Experience in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D for design plan production.
• Experience with modeling software, such as WaterCAD and SewerCAD is a plus.

Annual Salary range: $125,000 - $200,000
