Senior Water/Wastewater Process Engineer

Typical salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $169,000.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on office location and job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You’ll Do
  • Design water and wastewater treatment facilities, including advanced treatment/nutrient removal and reuse, distribution and conveyance, and related infrastructure balance of plant.
  • Prepare and review design drawings, details, layouts, specifications, cost estimates, studies, reports and work products; review designs by others for standard conformance.
  • Provide construction support and oversight including administration, limited inspection, start‑up, commissioning, operations, and maintenance. Some travel may be required.
  • Interface with project team including stakeholders, clients, equipment suppliers/vendors, and local, state, and federal government agencies.
  • Provide clear written and verbal communications for internal/external project meetings, project presentations, and all deliverables.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited school.
  • Minimum twelve (12) years of experience in design, construction oversight, and operation of water and/or wastewater infrastructure facilities and projects.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and be insurable under Merrick’s insurance carrier.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Certifications:
    • P.E. (Professional Engineer) License or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited school.
  • Experience with:
    • Hydraulic modeling (PIPE‑FLO, WaterCAD, Fathom, other).
    • Wastewater biological modeling (Biowin, GPSx, Sumo, other).
    • Industrial water and wastewater treatment.
    • Design team and project management.
    • Alternative delivery methods.
