Job summary

Velocity Constructors, Inc. seeks a Senior Estimator to lead our estimating department, oversee complex project estimates, and drive growth in water and wastewater infrastructure.

You will mentor and develop a team, review bids, and coordinate with owners, engineers, and subcontractors to craft competitive, well-supported estimates. The role requires extensive estimating experience, leadership ability, and strong analytical skills to assess risks and opportunities.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in construction estimating, preferably water/wastewater infrastructure.
• Experience leading complex estimates and competitive bidding processes.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and takeoffs.
• Ability to evaluate project risks, bid opportunities, and costs.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and review of detailed estimates for water and wastewater projects.
• Review drawings, specs, takeoffs, and bid documents for accuracy.
• Develop bid strategies considering risks, constructability and profitability.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, owners throughout bidding.
• Oversee bid packages and ensure timely, thorough submissions.
• Turnover awarded estimates to operations for execution.
• Mentor and develop estimators, fostering departmental capability.
