Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer in Irvine, CA to lead water and wastewater planning, design, and construction projects, while guiding junior staff and coordinating with clients and other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field.
• A minimum of 10 years of municipal water and wastewater planning and design experience.
• Professional Engineer license recognized by the licensing board (PE or P.Eng).
• Strong technical background in designing water distribution systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Microsoft Office, and hydraulic modeling software.
• Project engineering and project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical expert in water and wastewater projects.
• Prepare and guide junior staff in design plans for major projects.
• Create sketches, layouts, drawings and technical specifications.
• Approve and supervise design, inspection, and construction activities.
• Report on contracts, estimates, and modifications.
• Collaborate with managers for project reviews.
• Present design elements to clients in meetings and workshops.
