Job Description: Water & Wastewater Project Engineer
VVater is a US-based, next-generation water treatment company committed to providing Water for Humankind with a focus on sustainability and a healthier future. We serve various industries worldwide, including Real Estate, Wastewater Treatment, Municipal Potable Water, and more, emphasizing water recovery and recycling through centralized and decentralized systems. Our projects also include artificial beaches, lagoons, wave pools, surf parks, aquatics, sewage treatment, wastewater, and drinking water facilities.
We seek a candidate responsible for designing small to large-scale water and wastewater projects, including mobile water treatment units, artificial beaches, lagoons, surf parks, and other civil and mechanical engineering projects. The role requires a motivated, experienced engineer with excellent client interaction skills to oversee process design across various project types, from drinking water plants to multimillion-dollar treatment and distribution systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee planning and execution of projects involving water, aquatics, drinking water, sewage, and wastewater systems.
- Gain field expertise in next-generation electrical water treatment technologies.
- Perform daily technical work, project planning, scope management, scheduling, budgeting, and performance reporting.
- Establish project objectives and communicate technical issues with clients.
- Support technical sales, client development, proposal creation, and collaboration with regulatory bodies.
- Expand career growth in the regional and national water practice, mentor junior staff, and participate in sales and marketing initiatives.
- Assist in design-build project delivery for water and wastewater facilities, including those for real estate developments like beaches and lagoons.
- Define project scope, budget, staffing, and construction plans; manage change orders effectively.
- Apply expertise to develop innovative design solutions for complex problems.
- Ensure design compliance with standards, review production drawings, and manage project data.
- Address installation concerns, perform calculations, conduct field inspections, and oversee material testing.
- Manage installation, measurements, and field inspections for clients.
- Prepare and present technical reports for clients and publications.
- Develop new business opportunities while maintaining existing client relationships.
- Provide leadership and mentorship within the water process engineering practice.
- Ensure QA/QC procedures are followed and promote collaboration across disciplines.
- Adhere to safety regulations and perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, with at least 5 years of experience.
- Master's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in EPC projects is preferred.
- Strong background in municipal water or wastewater treatment plant design and construction, with leadership in process design.
- Knowledge of advanced water treatment technologies, hydraulics, chemical feed systems, disinfection, oxidation, and residual handling.
- Experience with preliminary, primary, secondary, biological treatment, disinfection, and solids processing for wastewater.
- Ability to handle industry, government, and public contracts domestically and internationally.
- Existing relationships with local or state clients are advantageous.
- Proficiency in engineering techniques, excellent communication skills, and leadership in large projects.
- Critical thinking, detail orientation, team-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to review detailed engineering documents and specifications.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
