Job summary

Egis is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer for our Austin, TX office to lead planning, design, and delivery of pipeline infrastructure projects. This role blends strong technical design with project leadership and mentorship of junior staff.

The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of engineering design experience, an active Texas PE license, and a track record of directing design production and projects from concept through construction.

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, environmental, or related engineering.
  • 15+ years of engineering design experience focused on pipeline infrastructure.
  • Active Texas PE license.
  • Experience leading design production and directing junior engineers and designers.
  • Ability to manage scope, schedule, and budgets.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience with project execution from concept through construction.

  • Lead the design and production of pipeline infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, reports, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Perform pipeline design, alignment evaluations, hydraulic analyses, and utility coordination.
  • Oversee design quality and provide technical guidance to engineers and designers.
  • Serve as a deputy or junior project manager, supporting project planning, schedules, budgets, and client communications.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Support permitting, regulatory compliance, and construction-phase services.
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to business development and project pursuits.

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead the planning, design, and delivery of pipeline infrastructure projects. This role combines strong technical design expertise with project leadership responsibilities, including mentoring junior staff, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and supporting project execution from concept through construction. City of Austin project delivery experience is preferred.

  • Active Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proven experience preparing engineering plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Experience leading design production efforts and directing junior engineers and designers.
  • Ability to support project management activities, including scope, schedule, and budget management.
  • Strong understanding of engineering design standards and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
