Base pay range

$110,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr

ERG seeks an experienced, highly motivated Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead water infrastructure projects. You will work directly with communities nationwide to assess infrastructure needs, develop projects, and access funding, helping communities address challenges in delivering clean, safe drinking water and protecting water quality.

Job Description:

• Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, and analysts in planning and designing drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects in small, under-resourced communities.
• Assess community water or wastewater infrastructure needs, develop planning documents and technical reports, and deliver project designs to secure funding.
• Lead meetings with community stakeholders to gather information and facilitate support.
• Support projects involving innovative water treatment technologies, evaluating design, environmental impacts, and reducing health and environmental risks of contaminants like PFAS.
• Mentor junior and mid-level staff as a subject matter expert.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Active PE license in at least one U.S. state (multiple licenses preferred).
• 15+ years of relevant experience in water or wastewater system planning and design.
• Willingness to travel for infrastructure assessments.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience with small and rural community infrastructure needs and planning documents.
• Design experience in water distribution, wastewater collection, and treatment systems, with knowledge of modeling and asset management software.
