Job summary

Tectonic seeks an experienced Resident Engineer for NYC water infrastructure projects in the Hudson Valley. You will supervise construction, lead field inspectors, and ensure contract compliance and safety.

Ideal candidate has 10+ years in heavy civil delivery, NY P.E., and proficiency with E-Builder, Bluebeam, and scheduling tools. Expect travel to job sites with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Licensed NY Professional Engineer with Civil Eng degree.
• 10+ years in construction management for heavy civil projects.
• Experience as Resident Engineer on heavy infrastructure; NYCDEP familiarity preferred.
• Proficient with E-Builder, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Bluebeam, estimating and scheduling tools.
• Able to interpret plans and specs; communicate with clients and inspectors.

Responsibilities

• Supervise construction from NTP to close-out on public infrastructure.
• Oversee field construction for contract compliance.
• Lead field inspection staff across projects.
• Coordinate all phases of construction inspection.
• Review and adjust contractor schedules for site conditions.
• Prepare and certify pay applications with quantity verification.
• Document contractor performance and enforce policies.
• Monitor safety programs and correct unsafe practices.
• Issue change orders and field orders as needed.
• Collaborate with PMs, clients, and city officials on scope changes.
