Job summary

TKDA seeks a Water Resources leader to drive stormwater design and project delivery for diverse clients. The role involves guiding projects from concept to construction, mentoring junior staff, and applying sustainable, cost-efficient engineering practices in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with emphasis on storm water, hydraulic design, and/or infrastructure design.
• Professional Engineer in the State of MN.
• Experience working on MNDOT projects.
• Minimum of 10 years of water resources experience.
• Working knowledge of CAD platforms: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation Open Roads Designer.
• Working knowledge of ArcMap, SWMM, HydroCAD, and/or HEC-RAS.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Valid driver’s license meeting company requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design calculations and plans for a variety of design projects.
• Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary environment of team members.
• Oversee the entire lifecycle of projects from preliminary design through construction.
• Coach, mentor, and develop less experienced engineering professionals (graduates, technicians, interns).
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and participate in project team discussions with clients and contractors.
