Job summary

Moffatt & Nichol, a leading U.S.-based infrastructure advisor, seeks a Water Resources Engineer for our San Diego office. You will develop surface water hydraulics, hydrology, and hydrodynamics models, analyze flood risk, and prepare plans, specs, and exhibits for regulatory and client reviews.

The role requires BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering, 5–10+ years of experience, EIT, and preferably PE. Strong collaboration with agencies and project teams is essential, with a baseline salary in the

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering; required
• EIT certification required
• PE registration preferred
• 5–10+ years of related experience
• Experience with floodplain mapping, stormwater hydrology and hydraulic modeling
• Ability to engage with agencies and teams to advance projects

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead on projects including surface water hydraulics, flood risk management, and coastal restoration
• Perform numerical modeling for stormwater and drainage projects
• Conduct 1D/2D riverine hydraulic modeling
• Prepare plans, specs, and cost estimates
• Participate in design meetings with project teams and clients
• Contribute to project decisions on technical approaches and schedules
• Prepare graphics, reports, and presentations
• Resolve a wide range of engineering issues creatively
