Job summary

Zone 7 Water Agency is seeking a Senior Engineer/Geologist to lead professional civil and geological work across water resources, flood control, and water quality projects. The role includes supervising staff and managing complex programs with an emphasis on reliability and environmental stewardship.

The ideal candidate will hold a CA PE or PG license and have strong leadership, accountability, and project management skills, with readiness to respond to emergencies and operate outdoors as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years’ full-time experience as Associate Civil Engineer/Professional Geologist, Zone 7.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geology.
• Three years’ full-time progressive professional engineering/geologist experience with two years supervisory/administrative experience.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and respond to emergencies.
• Valid California driver’s license and California PE or PG certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional civil/geological work related to water resources, flood control, water supply, and water treatment facilities and systems.
• Supervise professional and technical staff and manage projects/contracted services.
• Oversee planning, design, surveying, and construction aspects as needed.
• Apply engineering/geological principles to investigations, analyses, and reports.
• Respond to emergencies and work outdoors in various conditions.
