Job summary

Houston Engineering, Inc. seeks a Water Resources Engineer to join our Nebraska team and tackle projects involving water quantity and quality.

You will write and review studies and design documents, provide field oversight for dams, levees, streams, and lakes, and mentor junior engineers while expanding your leadership in water resources modeling and project management. Excellent communication and public speaking skills are valued; occasional travel is required to support Midwest projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental/related engineering field.
• 10+ years in water resources engineering, Midwest preferred.
• NE Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Willingness to travel periodically and travel readiness.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in future.

Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer to join our Nebraska team:

• Write, develop, organize, and reviewproject studies, reports, and design documents for water resources projects.
• Provide field services and construction oversight for water resources projects such as dams, levees, streams, and lakes.
• Be a mentor and developyounger engineers to become effective water resource modelers, designers, planners, and project managers.
• Engage in public speaking regarding civil engineerwater resources projects.

Likely Water Resource projects this role will be involved in are:hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, storm water planning, stream restoration, design of flood reduction and water quality improvements, and watershed-scale plans and studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering, Bioproducts and Biosystem Engineering, or related Engineering field.
• 10+ years of experience in water resources engineering, preferably in the Midwest.
• NE Professional Engineer’s License or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
• Interest in leading others and pursuing continual growth as a leader.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel periodically.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
