Job summary

The Town of Oro Valley Water Utility seeks a highly motivated, dependable individual with a strong water quality testing and backflow prevention background to join the Water Quality Department. Report to the Water Operations Supervisor and collaborate with other water operations staff in a team oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years in a public water utility as an ADEQ Grade II Distribution Operator.
• Valid Class D Arizona driver license on first day.
• Grade II Water Distribution certificate; Grade III within one year.
• Backflow general tester certification or ability to obtain within one year.
• Cross Connection Control Specialist certificate optional.
• DOT/Hazmat and NFPA 70E considered; ability to obtain if required within one year.
• Equivalent education/experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist water quality programs including sampling and backflow compliance.
• Produce sampling schedules and perform water quality sampling per regulations.
• Create and submit sampling plans and documents required by ADEQ.
• Maintain labs relations and review analyses; manage bottle sets.
• Create and maintain databases for water quality data.
• Assist with compliance reports including consumer confidence reports.
• Support budget planning and purchasing for water quality programs.
• Ensure programs comply with Federal and State drinking water regulations.
