Job summary

Carollo Engineers, a leading water-focused engineering firm, seeks a Senior Engineer in Los Angeles to lead major municipal water and wastewater projects, manage client relationships, and oversee project teams. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer.
• 15+ years professional experience (exclusive of any advanced degree).
• Experience delivering water and wastewater treatment, reuse, wastewater collection systems, water transmission/distribution, pipeline rehabilitation, and/or pump station projects.
• Ability to deliver high-quality services within budget and schedule constraints.
• Ability to evaluate progress of staff and results obtained, and recommend major changes to achieve overall objectives.
• Ability to communicate effectively with multiple clients and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Work on projects related to municipal water and wastewater treatment plants, including major expansions and reuse projects.
• Develops relationships with new and existing clients and manages client maintenance
• Plans and conducts engineering work on projects for multiple clients of medium to large size
• Maintains extensive contacts with key engineers and officials of other organizations
• Has technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments
• Determines program objectives and requirements and organizes programs and projects
• Explores subject areas, defines scope, and develops novel concepts and approaches
• Responsible for budget, schedule, contractual obligations and quality standards
• Directs several subordinate supervisors or team leaders
• Responsible for training and mentoring internal staff
• Plans and develops projects with important organizational impact
• Develops standards and guides for diverse engineering activities
• Acts independently and makes authoritative technical decisions
• Participates on proposals, interviews, and contract negotiations with clients
• Supports firm relationships with client management personnel
• Identifies and directs sub-consultants
• Active in professional associations and technical committees
• Minimal travel is required
