Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer seeks a Senior Water Project Manager in Northern California to lead all phases of water projects from concept through operations. Based in a hybrid California setting, you will guide planning, design, and implementation while coordinating closely with clients and internal teams.

The role requires a civil/environmental engineering background, a PE license, and 12+ years of municipal water experience, with strong communication and leadership skills to mentor staff and ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering.
• PE license.
• 12+ years of experience in municipal water treatment, water quality, water treatment technology, or manufacturing.
• Experience delivering projects spanning multiple years in multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient in MS Office based software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Self-starter with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to present complex issues to nontechnical people.

Responsibilities

• Project management, design, planning, operational support, and business development with a focus on water reuse and drinking water projects.
• Support and develop proposal development.
• Hire, supervise and mentor junior drinking water staff.
• Direct coordination and collaboration with clients.
• Coordinate with internal technical specialists and design professionals for project delivery.
• Manage projects to meet client expectations, budgets, and quality requirements.
• Follow Hazen processes to ensure quality delivery of engineering projects.
• Provide technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments on small/medium/large projects.
• Perform planning, studies, design, and support of projects through design, construction, and operation.
• Evaluate progress and recommend changes to achieve project objectives.
