Job summary

Shimmick Corporation seeks an experienced Senior Construction Engineer for the Palmdale Water Reclamation Plant Influent Pump Station Modification project in Palmdale, CA. The role supports large public-works construction, emphasizing field execution, schedule integrity, and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include coordinating field tasks, managing subcontractors, and maintaining project documentation using Procore, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, CMiC, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field with 4+ years of heavy civil experience or equivalent.
• Experience with water/wastewater or large public-works construction is preferred.
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents; OSHA knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to field crews; ensure accurate interpretation of drawings and contract requirements.
• Oversee layout, surveying, and grade control to maintain project accuracy.
• Manage construction methodologies in collaboration with the superintendent and project team.
• Support the superintendent in day-to-day tasks and coordinate with subcontractors and inspectors.
• Prepare RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and as-built documentation; participate in meetings.
• Utilize CMiC, Procore, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and MS Office for project documentation and tracking.
