Overview

You will play an integral part in leading wastewater process direction, design and decision making in our Water Design Center, region, and across the Garver Water footprint. You will take a lead process role ranging from client interaction and project pursuit to conceptual level process work including modeling and master planning, and through final design as it is warranted on projects in our Central region, as well as across our Garver footprint. You will help grow Garver’s Process engineering capabilities.

What you’ll do
  • Work hand in hand with our business teams and their clients to understand wastewater treatment challenges and share your expertise.
  • Involved in design proposal work, helping establish effective approaches to complex projects.
  • Collaborate with and mentor other engineers on your team and within the Water Design Centers.
  • Lead the wastewater process design on assigned projects in coordination with the WDC Process Team leader, including modeling, evaluations, helping the client select alternatives and preparing master plans.
  • In detailed design, work with the WDC to ensure continuity of intent and design quality.
  • Continue to learn and develop your expertise and push Garver forward by attending and presenting at conferences and other opportunities.
Day to day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to

  • Be known as an industry leader in WWTP design and technologies.
  • Developing conceptual level designs for wastewater treatment systems.
  • Coordinating with process mechanical team for detailed design services for treatment facilities.
  • Performing modeling and design calculations, coordinating with other support discipline activities on projects, coordinating with regional Garver offices and regulating agencies, construction cost estimating, and quality assurance and control.
  • Lead some projects from an internal Design Phase Manager standpoint on specific projects, coordinating schedules, monitoring project budgets, and ensuring delivery of quality work products which adhere to Garver standardization.
  • Regularly collaborate with Water Technology Team and other Garver process experts to develop best practices and areas of focus.
  • Participate in client meetings, industry conferences, and serve as a subject matter expert for the Water Business Line.
In addition, the Senior Wastewater Process Engineer will be responsible for
  • Assisting in recruiting top talent for the process team.
  • Developing scope, schedule, level of effort, and fees for projects.

  • Developing process standards and tools, procurement, and training.
  • Helping prepare Garver Water, the WDCs and your team for the future.
  • Performing quality reviews for projects across the Garver footprint.
Travel

Some travel will be required as part of this position. Most travel will be within the Central region, as necessary based on project work. Because this position is not located in College Station, regular travel to the WDC will be expected to maintain continuity with the design team. This is anticipated to be one to two days every couple weeks and may change depending on circumstances. Travel will also be anticipated for business development purposes, including proposal development, interviews, knowledge transfer sessions, and industry related conference attendance. Project specific travel may also be required for site assessments, project workshops, design review meetings, and support during construction.
