Job summary

Garelick Farms, Dairy Farmers of America seeks a Sr. Wastewater Technician for the 1st shift. You will operate and maintain the wastewater treatment plant, monitor equipment, collect samples, and analyze data to keep operations safe and compliant.

The role involves performing daily tests (COD, TSS, solids), following GMPs and safety rules, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. External candidates may receive a $1,500 sign-on bonus and the schedule is Tuesday–Saturday 6:00 AM–2:30 PM.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical or college education or military preferred.
• 2 to 4 years of wastewater experience with a system similar to onsite.
• Certification/license for Water/Wastewater Operator or ability to obtain within 12 months per state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment and monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges to determine load requirements and detect malfunctions.
• Maintain chemical levels, adjustment, and disinfection of water and other liquids.
• Record operational data, meter, and gauge readings on specified forms at specified frequencies.
• Perform COD, TSS, total solids and other analysis testing on daily samples; interpret results for trends and adjust as needed.
• Solve problems using experience and precedents; propose and implement solutions.
• Advise supervisor on concerns and implement changes.
• Assist with maintenance, repair, and lubrication of wastewater equipment; record parts used.
• Coordinate with vendors to align with best practices and ensure ready state of equipment.
