The Company

My client is a high-level, large and influential, fully integrated civil engineering, planning, surveying and environmental consultancy. Their engineering team has high-level specialist civil and environmental experience.

They work on significant and complex projects across the region, and are looking to hire a Senior Civil Engineer (water) for their Hamilton office.

They cover all aspects of land development from feasibility studies through to monitoring of construction and compliance.

They design and deliver innovative and sustainable developments for a better New Zealand, building new communities where people love to live, and provide best practice solutions for complex infrastructure projects.

The Role

1. You will have responsibility for client projects and client management, providing leadership and technical support for the engineering department's daily operations.
2. This includes preparing engineering design plans, liaising with Council for design approvals, and preparing documents for tenders.
3. You will project manage various engineering projects and assist with civil works quoting.
4. You will provide technical input during resource consent, concept design, and detailed design phases.
5. Involvement in procurement, contract administration, construction monitoring, and interaction with clients and contractors.

About You

1. Hold an Engineering Degree and/or relevant qualifications such as a Washington Accord Degree.
2. Be working towards or be a Chartered Professional Engineer.
3. Have 5-7+ years of experience in civil engineering / land development.
4. Understand civil construction machinery and methods.
5. Possess the technical skills for engineering design, calculations, and interpreting test results.
6. Be highly competent with 12D or ideally Civil 3D software and design packages.
7. Be a strong team player willing to contribute to team development.
8. Possess high technical competence in infrastructure work and be able to manage multiple projects.
