Research Innovations Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Researcher to independently explore and exploit complex systems, from kernels to embedded platforms, delivering real‑world impact for defense and homeland security.

The role requires active US Top Secret security clearance with potential upgrade to TS/SCI SAP access. You will lead vulnerability research, develop PoCs, and mentor peers while shaping technical direction.

Qualifications

• High‑impact vulnerability research on real‑world systems influencing security decisions.
• Deep understanding of OS internals (Windows, Linux, macOS) and kernel subsystems.
• Reverse engineered binaries, firmware, or kernel components and analyzed memory behavior.
• Developed POC exploits or mitigation bypasses with meaningful impact.
• Knowledge of ASLR, DEP/NX, stack canaries, CFI and related mitigations.
• Written tooling or scripts (Python, C/C++) to support analysis or automation.
• Collaborated with researchers and provided technical feedback.
• Communicated complex concepts clearly in writing and discussion.

Responsibilities

• Leading advanced vulnerability research across OSes, kernels, firmware, and embedded platforms.
• Independently scoping attack surfaces and driving research from hypothesis to validated findings.
• Performing deep reverse engineering and in‑memory analysis of binaries across architectures (x86/x64, ARM, PowerPC).
• Designing and executing novel exploitation techniques and evaluating mitigations.
• Analyzing undocumented system behaviors and extending tooling to support goals.
• Collaborating with senior researchers to shape technical direction and raise research quality.
• Translating findings into actionable insights for stakeholders and customers.
• Mentoring and sharing knowledge to improve tools, methodologies, and workflows.
