Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Security Engineer for a remote contract role. You will support the vulnerability management lifecycle, operate Tenable scanning, analyze findings, and translate risk into actionable steps for technical stakeholders across Windows, Linux, and cloud environments.

The position requires strong communication, remediation guidance skills, and experience with PCI/HIPAA/SOX compliance. Expect collaboration with multiple teams and detailed security documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in cybersecurity with a focus on vulnerability management.
• Experience with Tenable products and Brinqa or similar platforms.
• Ability to translate risk into actionable remediation guidance for technical teams.
• Strong understanding of Windows and Linux environments; cloud experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end vulnerability management lifecycle from identification to remediation guidance.
• Operate and maintain vulnerability scanning, including Tenable Security Center.
• Analyze findings, determine risk, and prioritize remediation with technology teams.
• Develop detailed remediation guidance and compensating controls when needed.
• Coordinate activities across application owners and infrastructure teams.
• Create clear technical documentation and remediation instructions for partner teams.
• Ingest and manage findings in Brinqa or similar platforms; work across environments.
• Align processes with PCI, HIPAA, and SOX compliance requirements.
