Job summary

BNY in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a senior Product Owner to drive vision, strategy, and execution of wealth services and trust products. You will own one or more high-complexity pods, manage a large backlog, and align roadmaps with business goals and stakeholder needs.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, prioritize backlogs, negotiate trade-offs for high-quality launches, and measure product success post-release while maintaining a customer-centric approach.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in product development and delivery for financial services or fintech.
• Strong background in wealth services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Expertise in stakeholder management.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CSPO, Agile) are valued.
• Experience with agile methodologies, product management tools (Jira, Confluence), and data visualization platforms.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Curiosity and drive for continuous learning and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Drive the vision, strategy, and execution of wealth services and trust services products as a Product Owner of one or more high complexity pods.
• Thrive in an environment with a large and established product backlog.
• Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business goals and stakeholder needs.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration and ensure delivery of high-impact solutions aligned with business objectives and client needs.
• Manage and prioritize product backlog, collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, and working closely with development team to ensure the successful delivery of the product.
• Negotiate the implementation of current work and make the right trade-off decisions to launch products in a high-quality manner.
• Identify and triage issues with specific features, whilst understanding how multiple features are interrelated.
• Provide advanced guidance on product management processes and methods to ensure products are aligned with client needs. Reviews final products and strategies for major project initiatives
• Define proper measurement and instrumentation for a product to analyze results post-release/launch.
• Partner with manager to make recommendations on the right next steps for the feature.
• Consistently maintain a customer mindset when supporting, developing, and delivering products.
