Job summary

Renasant Bio is seeking a Senior Vice President, Translational Science to drive programs from late discovery into the clinic. This leadership role reports to the CSO and oversees biology, translational science, and IND enabling work, with responsibility for early clinical strategy and patient studies.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in biotech/pharma drug development, a proven track record of advancing programs to the clinic, and strong experience in small molecule development and regulatory

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or MD/PhD in a relevant scientific discipline.
• 15+ years of drug development experience in biotech or pharma.
• Proven track record taking programs from preclinical development into Phase 1/2 in patients.
• Deep small molecule drug development experience including PK, pharmacology and toxicology; IND path.
• Experience building and leading high-performing translational science teams.
• Strong scientific judgment with clear decision-making on incomplete data.
• Excellent communication with executives, boards and investors.
• Experience with regulatory interactions including pre-IND meetings with FDA.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the translational strategy for programs from discovery to clinic.
• Oversight of biology and translational science across development stages.
• Lead regulatory interactions and contribute to pre-IND planning and strategy.
• Build, mentor and manage a high-performing translational science team and partner with senior leadership.
