Job summary

North Star Talent Group seeks a Telecommunications Engineering Specialist for a confidential client in Winchester, VA. A senior role requiring deep VoIP, SIP, and E‑911/PSAP experience to support mission-critical federal communications.

The position involves gateway deployment, SIP interconnections, emergency call routing, and complex troubleshooting in a defense environment. Active Secret clearance is required and relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

10+ years of telecommunications engineering experience.
5+ years of hands-on VoIP and SIP engineering experience.
Active Secret security clearance.
Experience with Ribbon Communications, Sonus, or Genband technologies.
Strong knowledge of Session Border Controllers.
Experience with SIP signaling, routing, and telecommunications interconnections.
Experience supporting E-911, NG911, or PSAP integrations.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
On-site work in Winchester, Virginia; US work authorization without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Support deployment and integration of Ribbon Federal Edge gateways.
Engineer and troubleshoot SIP interconnections, signaling, and policy routing.
Analyze and resolve E-911 call-flow and routing issues.
Support connectivity across Federal Edge, DISA VISP, and Army PSAP environments.
Perform deployment validation, readiness assessments, and technical troubleshooting.
Identify engineering risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Track technical issues and provide engineering recommendations through resolution.
Support gateway installation, configuration, deployment, and performance troubleshooting.
Coordinate requirements for emergency-services routing and PSAP connectivity.
Collaborate with program teams to ensure readiness for deployment.
